My kitchen, which is small, only has room for an 18” dishwasher. It has not worked well in the past few months but I have not pushed for it to be repaired or replaced because most of the time my husband and I are the only ones at home. Lately I have been using it as an extra cupboard. On the top I have my paper goods (foil, wraps, etc). On the bottom I keep towels, washcloths and the cat:

Okay, I thought I was the only one who used the dishwasher for storage and occasionally the cat. It must be a cat thing because ours does the same thing if I leave the door open. And yes, our dishwasher doesn't work...hasn't for about 4 months. It will be more of a problem in the coming weeks as the boys all come home from working at summer camp and the dishwashing requirements increase. Ah well. Thanks for sharing.
