I picked up this pattern by Valori Wells, Saturday, at the quilt show. The actual size is about 3 1/2” by 4 1/2”. Each one took about 45 minutes to make including hand sewing. I think they are just too cute!
I may have to invest in a snap gizmo!
A blog about my day...my family, sewing, quilting, and other interests in my life.

So sorry about last week. I was in Baltimore visiting my daughter and her family. (more on that later).
This week, how about something different? Saturday I visited the Candlelight Quilt Guild’s Quilt Show here in Baldwinsville. This is one of my very favorite shows. The members are all so talented-and vey nice!
Just a couple of comments: I tried to show close-ups of a couple of quilts-a couple were actually hand quilted! There was also an interesting display commemorating the Civil War Sesquicentennial. Finally please look at Jake’s quilt. He did an awesome job!
Wow! I worked all day Friday, ran all weekend and then worked again on Monday and Tuesday. Today and tomorrow I get ready for Lancaster and Baltimore and I leave on Friday-yea!!!
So better late than never (I hope!) here is my video for the week. Have you visited Superior Threads? Lots of great information! I also subscribe to their newsletter. I have spent mucho time perusing the site.
Enjoy!
The title says it all. I have also included a close-up of the center that I fussy cut.
Ooh-those corners don’t look very nice. Let me try pressing them again….
So the name of this pattern is Spare Change. You can find the link here. Thank you Mimi! Oh! I think that the fabric is Patisserie by Moda. I remember when we were looking for it.
Next week Mimi and I are meeting in Lancaster, PA. We will do a little shopping, some sewing and lots of talking. When my husband and I visited Mimi and John this past summer, Mimi gave me a top to quilt for her. I posted about it here.
I finished the quilting this past weekend. While I was quilting it I thought that it was a yellow brick road quilt but I don’t think it is. Have you been holding out on me, Mimi? What pattern did you use??
Anyway it is done. Here is a close-up of the quilting.
Now I can bring it when we get together and Mimi can practice putting on bindings. I think we both did a great job!
